Active lime is often used in the production of building materials, steel, power plants, paper mills and other industries. The porosity of active lime is as high as 40%. It is low in volume density, and large in specific surface area, so it has high activity. In actual production, in order to accelerate the decomposition, the calcination temperature is often increased to 1000-1100°C. Therefore, professional lime production equipment is needed for calcination. The lime rotary kiln calcining system is the main equipment specially used to produce active lime. The active lime calcination system mainly includes three main equipments: lime rotary kiln, vertical preheater and vertical cooler.
The lime rotary kiln process is the material that will be fed into the kiln tail through the chute in the gas chamber. As the kiln shell is inclined and rotates slightly, the material will move along the round shell and move along shaft direction from kiln tail to kiln head. The material will be processed through pre-heat, decompose, calcined, and will be fed into a cooler. Fuel will be given through gas or coal burner at kiln head and will be combusted in the kiln. Heat will be transferred to material by fire radiate, hot air flow, kiln brick transfer. The heat will heat and calcine material enough and make its final product.
The main function of vertical kiln preheater is to transport the limestone from the upper into the preheater body, at the same time preheat material evenly with the furnace hot waste gas discharged after calcining. In the preheating process, some materials are decomposed in the preheater and then are pushed into the rotary kiln for calcining by the hydraulic push rod. This calcination process not only makes the calcining time greatly shortened but also obtains a high degree of active lime.
After high heat lime particles enter into the rotary kiln cooler, heat dissipation and heat exchange transfer are carried out at penetration of secondary air and lime particles are forcibly cooled below 100℃. The main purpose of the cooler is to realize the characteristics of the “quench” of active lime to prevent that lime clinker continues to react under high temperature after taking out of rotary kiln and leads to crystal growth and the change of active property.
